The Seven Thieves self-confidence and how to stop them ? Part 1 ...

There is no such thing as perfection in human beings, but many people still cling to the notion that it exists. It may be the expectation of finding the perfect relationship, maintaining a spotless house, always complete a daily to-do list before you go to bed every night, throwing the perfect party or write the perfect article or speech.

This can not meet these expectations a person anxious, overwhelmed and discouraged and may erode> Self-Reliance.

What are some indicators of perfectionism?

Afraid to make mistakes ? not that errors are detected part of the learning process
To reach the lack of joy in performing the task or goal ? a feeling of pressure and emphasized instead
Procrastination on how to start (can not be started until you know the "right way" to do something)
Comparing himself to criticize the others (and others)
The failure to recognize or acknowledge the success orAchievement
Expressing a lot of "I" for what has happened in the past (I had to do this instead of that)
Chronic insecurity or the feeling of a scam If you identify yourself with one of these, it is time to Breaking The Habit is the perfectionism. But how?

When working with clients, I let them know that I no quick-fix coach or therapist. Whatever problems we have, it takes time to develop and it will take time to deconstruct it and new models of thinkingand behave.

I believe that our brain has to relearn through the construction and strengthening of new connections. Our mind must question old beliefs and create new ones that support us, as we personally and professionally. We need time to assimilate and accommodate new information.

But as we learn again and strengthening the construction of new connections over time, there are also short-term strategies that shift our awareness faster and it can accelerate the process. Here are twoTechniques that I use with my clients.

The first technique I like to use to stranded, negative or unproductive thoughts is to remove what I call "The approach of the billboard." Based it on one of the many techniques of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), which for my change clinical practice and coaching.

If you get stuck thinking negatively, the answer to the bill. Immediately after your mental screen, a flashing billboard with a message effectively to removethought.

For example, if you are prone perfectionist, is one of the most common phrases that you use: "I should ?" if you look back on an action or a decision that you made.

A phrase you might see on the bill "is not possible in the case in the past." Make your message stand with bright colors or spots.

This sentence is the quote from Dr. Wayne Dyer basis. "Everything that has happened has never happened in your life to do it,You would have never done this, you could never otherwise than what has happened did. "

In your mind, see and hear the words and the words. Let the words sink .. There is nothing else he could do. Feel the relief of letting go of a fallacy.

All we can do is learn from the past. Blaming ourselves (or others) not allow us to learn.

Another technique I use is what I call "The flash of success"

Perfectionism can often do you think of the recognition or credit for the success or the attainment of the goal. Here is a technique that can help you is to recognize and correct some objective.

Get your journal or notebook. Write everything you have done in the past year, he had no success, we drove past every obstacle. It does not matter, whether large or small things. You can fill the pages. Now sit and read, and I congratulate youon your successes. Add to the list whenever you want. Read over the list every time you think you're still not done enough.
