Across Indonesia, forestry science experts are enabling eucalyptus trees ? which historically took about 12 years to reach full production size ? to grow to maturity in half that time. This six-year rotation not only allows pulpwood suppliers to produce more pulp on less land, but also helps them maintain cover on their forest concessions. Researcher Haryo Riko explains how the innovative process begins in the lab, and nursery coordinator Andi Maglin describes how it succeeds in the field.
