MANILA, Philippines ? The Philippine Supreme Court has ordered a live video webcast of the trial of a political clan accused in the massacre of 57 people, including 31 journalists.
It's the first real-time coverage of court proceedings via the Internet allowed by the tribunal.
Chief Justice Renato Corona's order Tuesday comes after the court last week gave permission for live radio and television broadcast of the trial. The massacre is the country's worst political violence.
A court statement says that through the webcast the trial will be accessible to viewers worldwide without interruption.
Radio and TV networks have welcomed the earlier court decision but complained about strict conditions like continuous broadcast without commercials.
