You may have seen some interesting colored fire trucks driving through Rockford today. The Pink Heals Tour travels across the country, supporting women who have fought breast cancer.
The tour is funded entirely by their merchandise sales, and the trucks are driven exclusively by volunteers.
The pink motorcade stops into town today to visit the OSF Saint Anthony's Center for Cancer Care, as they host an open house to debut their newest cancer fighting technology.
The multi-million dollar radiation machine is safer, more effective, and faster than other methods. And can give patients 360 degree treatment.
"This machine is probably one of the most advanced machines on the market right now. It is the first of its kind in Northern Illinois, and we're very happy to have it," said Iftekhar Ahmad, a Radiation Oncologist for the OSF Saint Anthony's Center for Cancer Care.
OSF Saint Anthony's Center for Cancer Care will begin to use the new machine next week.
